Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Ramallah to a crowd of thousands of supporters on Sunday, saying that a "Palestinian Spring" was coming that would lead to the formation of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Returning to the West Bank after having submitted his request for statehood at the United Nations in New York, Abbas told the crowd, "Hold your heads up, you are Palestinian," the WAFA news agency reported.
