According to Daniel 2:31-45, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon dreamed of a statue with a golden head which represented the Babylonian empire whose people worshipped his entirely golden statue which he later had built on the plain of Dura according to Daniel 3:1-6. The people were commanded to bow down and worship the statue or be killed.  The statue in his dream also had a breast and arms of silver which represented the Media-Persian empire, the thighs or loins of brass representing the Greek empire, the legs of Iron representing the Roman Empire. Both the Greek and Roman empires worshipped other gods and had statues of them which they worshipped. The Medes & Persians worshipped other gods, but they didn't worship statues which were idols like the Greeks & Romans worshipped.

The statue in Nebudchaznezzar's dream also had feet and ten toes of miry clay and iron which are 10 nations or 10 areas from the Roman empire who will worship the Antichrist beast and his image which is an idol.  The miry clay represents Apostate, wayward Christians and the iron represents the Islamic Muslims who have migrated from the Mid-East or in what was the Eastern Roman Empire into what was the Western Roman Empire. Together the Apostate Christians and the Islamic Muslim will worship the image of the beast, and the Lord Jesus is the stone or rock who upon his return will end the worship of the image of the beast represented by the feet and 10 toes of miry clay and iron of the statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream. It will be the end of idol worship forever since the entire statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream is destroyed when the Lord Jesus strikes the two feet and 10 toes of the statue.
