Hi John and Doves,
This article caught my attention - and not simply because Sukkot is the Jewish holiday where Almighty God commands you to be happy. That alone is pause for thought. It sounds like Sukkot is going to be the time of future joy - a time when our LORD Jesus returns, perhaps?
It was the photograph in the article that really caught my attention. Note all those temporary booths built on flat roof dwellings for Sukkot. It reminded me of the scripture in Matthew 24: 15-21. I have linked the whole of Matthew 24 in the 2nd link as the entire chapter flows together regarding the end times. Matthew 24:17 says when talking about the Jewish people seeing the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place...let the reader understand:- "Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house". This suggests to me that the people in Jerusalem will NOT be in their houses, but will be on rooftops etc. This is highly indicative of Sukkot.
The photograph in the article brought that scripture to life for me.
