Israel started their holiday of
Shemini Atzeret on the evening of October 6. It was
the next morning of October 7 - still on Shemini Atzeret -
that this latest war began. It is also a
Shabbat. And the day after the end of Feast of
Tabernacles.
This new war started 50 years
after the Yom Kippur war of 1973 which began on 10 Tishrei.
Hamas may have thought they picked
this day to begin their attack on Israel, but God chose this
day for them to do this evil thing. Shemini Atzeret is
a festival of God. In Hebrew it is the word mowade -
appointed time. Nothing happens outside of God's will.

The Jewish people in Israel do not
use the sighting of the new moon for these festivals.
I believe the new moon is how a new month should be
determined, in this case, the Jewish calendar is one day off
- Shemini Atzeret will begin sunset October 7 and end sunset
October 8.
Shemini Atzeret is the Eighth
Assembly. Eight pertains to eternity and the world to
come. All of the Feasts lead up to this LAST day.
And Shemini Atzeret is 'the last
and greatest day of the feast'. John 7:37-38 Jesus
offered living waters on this day. So this day is "the last
day" and "the greatest day".
Could Shemini Atzeret be THE last
day?
In John 6:54 Jesus said, "Whoever
eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and
I will raise him up at the last day." And
John 6:39, Jesus said, "And this is the Father's will which
hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should
lose nothing, but should raise them up at the last
day." And John 6:44 Jesus said, "No man can
come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw
him: and I will raise him up at the last day."
And John 11:24, Martha said to Jesus, "I know that he
will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
Shemini Atzeret is a mystery day to
the Jews...and Paul, in his first letter to the Corinthians,
wrote "Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed." 1 Corinthians 15:51

What has happened to Israel is
absolutely horrific. This could drag on with 'just
Hamas' as Israel continues to 'remove' the terrorists or
this could become a multi-front war for Israel.
God knows what is coming.

The Rapture could happen on
Shemini Atzeret - Sunday.
Many Watchers are hoping THIS
war is it - the war that takes the world into the
Tribulation Period. The Rapture then would be in the
very near future!
