It was Hitler back then. This time it will be the antichrist, who will make Hitler look like little more than a school choir boy in comparison! But there is one important difference in these two time periods------ the Rapture! The Rapture is going to happen in our time period while life is still relatively normal. We have that promise from Scripture, but I won't address it here.

P.S. Psalm 102:16 King James states, "WHEN THE LORD SHALL BUILD UP ZION (Israel), HE SHALL APPEAR IN HIS GLORY." In 1948 Israel returned as a free, independent state for the first time since 721 BC (2669 years!), and we entered what the Bible calls the "End Times". The "parable of the fig tree" in both the New and Old Testaments tells us that the "generation" to see Israel's return will see all end time events come to pass! Israel is now more than 74 years old, and the hour is late in these End Times! Jesus (Israel's Messiah----- see Micah 5:2, Psalm 22:14-18, and all of Isaiah 53 for proof!) will appear in His glory at the upcoming Rapture, and will again appear in His glory at the Second Coming a little more than 7 years after the Rapture.
P.P.S. A final thought. The "god of this world" (satan) tried to destroy the Jewish people using Hitler right before Israel became a nation. This time around the "god of this world" (satan) will try to destroy the Jewish people using the antichrist right before Israel's Messiah returns to Israel and rules over the nations during the 1000 year Kingdom Age.
