You stated that Jesus died on the 14th and resurrected on the 17th. Here is what really happened according to the Scriptures :

 

Leviticus 23:10-11

".......then ye shall bring a SHEAF of the FIRSTFRUITS ( representing Jesus as the firstfruits ) of your harvest unto the Priest. And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord to be accepted for you ON THE MORROW AFTER THE SABBATH ( which is Sunday, the first day of the week )  ...."

 

Matthew 27:63

"Sir, we remember that the deceiver ( speaking of Jesus ) said, while He was yet alive, "AFTER three days I will rise again."

 

Mark 8:31

"..........and be killed, and AFTER three days rise again."

 

Mark 16:9

"Now when Jesus was risen early THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK ( ie. Sunday ) ...."

 

Remember the Hebrew day BEGINS and ENDS at sunset. 

 

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT :

 

Jesus was crucified on Passover Wednesday Nisan 14 from 9:00 to 3:00 , and then He was placed in the tomb just BEFORE sunset on Wednesday Nisan 14. 

 

Day #1 was Thursday Nisan 15 to sunset. Day #2 was Friday Nisan 16 to sunset. Day #3 was Saturday Nisan 17 to sunset. THEN Jesus resurrected AFTER sunset which was  Sunday Nisan 18, "the FIRST DAY of the week.
