I am going to break down the four
generations in Egypt. From Levi to Kohath to Amram to
Moses, they all have the same characteristics, that is,
they begat their son at roughly age 90 years old.
Jacob is born in year 2108. He begat
Joseph when he was 91 years old. That year was 2199 (
2108 + 91 ). Year 2199 is the year he wanted to leave
Haran, and moved back to Canaan. Laban tried to stop him
from leaving. He told Laban he has been working for him
for 20 years, and God has seen his affliction. Subtract
20 years from 2199, 2179 is the year he began working
for Laban.
After working 7 years for Laban, he
married Leah and Rachel. That year was 2186. The first
four children under Leah are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and
Judah. Going by ten months pregnancy, Reuben was born in
year 2187, Simeon in 2188, while Levi was in 2189, Judah
in 2190.
Jacob went down to Egypt when he was 130
years old. That year was 2238 ( 2108 + 130 ). Levi was
49 years old in 2238 when he entered Egypt with his
father Jacob ( 2238 - 2189 ). Below is how I see the
four generation in Egypt. We need to realize that Moses
was 80 years old when he left Egypt. The year he left
Egypt with Israelis was 2538. Subtract 80 from 2538, we
have year 2458 as the year Moses was born.
Just like his father Jacob, Levi begat
Konath when he was 90 years old. That year was 2279 (
2189 + 90 ). Konath begat Amram when he was 90 years
old. That year was 2369 ( 2279 + 90 ). Amram begat Moses
when he was 89 years old. That year was 2458 ( 2369 + 89
). As we can see, Levi, Konath, and Amram all
begat their son roughly around 90 years old. It was
possible because Jacob also begat Joseph when he was 91
years old.
From Levi entered Egypt when he was 49
years old, the four generation stayed in Egypt for 300
years ( 2238 to 2538 ). I think the puzzle is finally
solved by identifying the four generation and how old
they are when they begat their son.
A note here. The 430 years sojourning of
the children of Israel began when Jacob was born in year
2108. He spent most of his time in Canaan and Haran.
When he was 130 years old, he entered Egypt with his
sons and servants in year 2238. In year 2538, after 430
years sojourning of Jacob and his descendants in Canaan
and Egypt combined, Moses took them out from Egypt. From
2238 to 2538, Jacob's descendants and the four
generation stayed 300 years in Egypt.
A minor correction to my last post.
Moses died at age 120 years old. They spent 41 years
in wilderness. So Moses left Egypt at age 79 years
old. That year was 2538. Minus 79 years from 2538,
Moses was born in year 2459. Amram begat Moses in year
2459 when he was 90 years old ( 2459 minus 2369 ).
Levi, Kohath, Amram all begat their son at age 90
years old.
