Jacob was born in year 2108. He left
Canaan and went to Haran when he was 71 years old. That
year was 2179. He worked for Laban for 7 years, and then
he married Leah and Rachel in year 2186. He was 78 years
old when he got married. His brother Esau got married at
age 40. Why did God hold off his marriage until Jacob
was 78 years old?
Here's my thought. Leah gave birth to four
children. They are Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah.
They are the first four children of Jacob. The
marriage took place in 2186. Going by the chronological
order of these four children, and ten months pregnancy,
Levi and Judah very likely were born in year 2189 and
2190 while Jacob was 81 years old.
81 years is significant,because when we
add 81 years to 1948, we have 2029. By having Jacob
being 81 years old, and Levi and Judah were born, God
may point to when Israel is 81 years old ( from 1948),
the priestly nation Levi and Judah shall be born in
2029. Jesus returns in 2029 to establish this priestly
kingdom. I believe this is the reason God holds off
Jacob's marriage until he was 78 years old.
