Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know
of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land
that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall
afflict them four hundred years;
This 400 years have confused many
Christians for thousands years. It is because in Genesis
12:40 it is written that the sojourning of children of
Israel is 430 years, not 400 years.
Today I have studied the timeline of
Jacob, I have figured out the answer. And it also
confirm my timeline is correct, that is, in year 2538
Israelis left Egypt.
Abraham is born in year 1948. Isaac is
born in 2048. Jacob is born in 2108. And Jacob was 91
years old when he begat Joseph. Adding 91 years to 2108,
2199 is the year Joseph was born. This year 2199 is very
important. It helps us to calculate the 400 years. Let's
begin with God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 15.
Genesis 15:7 And he said unto him, I am
the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to
give thee this land to inherit it.
God promises Abraham to give the promised
land to his heirs. Abraham responds by asking God when
will this accomplish.
8 And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I
know that I shall inherit it?
Abraham wants to know when will God
fulfill His promise, so that he and his heirs shall
inherit the land. Here's God's response.
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a
surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that
is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall
afflict them four hundred years;
God says Abraham's seed shall be a
stranger in the land that is not theirs, and shall serve
them, and they shall afflict them four hundred years.
Basically what God has said is this, Abraham's seed
shall receive 400 years of affliction, before they can
enter the promised land. We know they entered the
promised land 41 years after Moses took them out from
Egypt. Question is, when did this affliction begin?
Jacob is born in year 2108. He begat
Joseph in year 2199 when he was 91 years old. From
Genesis 30:25, we learn that after Rachel gave birth to
Joseph, Jacob told Laban that he wanted to move back to
Canaan.
Genesis 30:25 And it came to pass, when
Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send
me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my
country.
When Laban tried to stop Jacob from
leaving, Jacob said this to Laban.
Genesis 31: 38 This twenty years
have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have
not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I
not eaten. 39 That which was torn of beasts I brought
not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst
thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by
night. 40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed
me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from
mine eyes. 41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy
house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two
daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast
changed my wages ten times. 42 Except the God of my
father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had
been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty.
God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my
hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
"God hath seen mine affliction and the
labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight."
Jacob spent 20 years with Laban. Subtract
20 years from year 2199, it was in year 2179 when Jacob
started working for Laban. Laban used his daughters to
trick Jacob to work 20 years for him. Year 2179 is the
year God saw the affliction of Jacob begin. God has
promised Abraham that there would be 400 years from the
time Abraham's seed affliction begins, to the time they
inherit the promised land. Adding 400 years to year
2179, we come to year 2579 as the year Israelis entered
the promised land, if God held His promise.
From my previous post, I have calculated
Israelis left Egypt in year 2538 based on the 430 years
sojourning of the children of Israel in Exodus 12. After
they left Egypt, they stayed in mount Sinai for 1 year.
They departed Sinai in the second year. God left them in
wilderness for 40 years. The total years they spent in
wilderness after they left Egypt is 41 years. Adding 41
years to year 2538, we come to year 2579 as the year
they entered the promised land. HERE WE ARE!!! This year
2579 matches the calculation of adding 400 years
to year 2179 where Jacob's affliction began.
As we can see, God is God of precision. He
is not a God of confusion. When he promises Abraham that
his seeds shall inherit the promised land 400 years from
the time the affliction begins ( God saw Jacob's
affliction in year 2179 ), God has kept His promise by
letting Israelis inherit the land 400 years later in
2579. And coupling with the 430 years sojourning of
children of Israel, year 2538 "is" the year Israelis
left Egypt.
While 430 years speaks of the sojourning
of the children of Israel which begins with Jacob's
birth, the 400 years speaks from the time the affliction
of Abraham's seed ( Jacob ) begins, unto Abraham's seed
inherits the land.
A simple recap. Jacob begat Joseph
in year 2199. This is also the year Jacob begins to
leave Haran. He has spent 20 years working for Laban. It
traces back to 2179 as the year Jacob begins working for
Laban. Because Laban tricks Jacob, by using his
daughters to make Jacob work 20 years for him, God sees
2179 as the year Abraham's seed affliction begin. Adding
400 years to 2179, we come to 2579 as the year God
fulfills His promise by letting Abraham's heir inherit
the land.
From my calculation of 430 years
sojourning of the children of Israel, Exodus took place
in 2538. Israelis spent 41 years in wilderness. Adding
41 years to 2538, we also come to 2579 as the year they
enter the land.
Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram,
Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in
a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and
they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 And
also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge:
and afterward shall they come out with great
substance. 15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in
peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. 16 But
in the fourth generation they shall come hither again:
for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
Now we should know these 400 years
affliction of Abraham's seed begins with Jacob in year
2179 when Laban tricks him to work 20 years for him.
This affliction continues with Jacob entering Egypt at
age 130 years old with his sons and servants. After
Jacob died in age 147 years old, there were four
generations in Egypt as God has foretold in verse 16.
The four generations are Levi, Kohath, Amram, and
Moses.
After Moses took Israelis out from Egypt
in year 2538, and entered the land in 2579, it wraps
up the 400 years God has foretold Abraham ( from 2179
to 2579 ).
This week so far is very productive. I
have solved two puzzles. The first one is 42 months
= 1260 days by acknowledging the extra 20 days in
Nisan 20 2029. The second puzzle is the 400 years in
Genesis 15. The 400 years speaks of the time Jacob's
affliction begins, unto Israelis enters the land in
year 2579. Here's another puzzle.
Genesis 15:8 And he said, Lord GOD,
whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? 9 And
he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years
old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of
three years old, and a turtledove, and a young
pigeon. 10 And he took unto him all these, and
divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one
against another: but the birds divided he not. 11
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases,
Abram drove them away.
12 And when the sun was going down, a
deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of
great darkness fell upon him.
I believe God uses a heifer of three
years old, to represent the final three years
affliction upon Israel which represents the second
half of tribulation. This is why Abraham fell into a
deep sleep.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the
sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking
furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between
those pieces.
A fire came down and burnt up the
heifer, the she goat, and the ram. God shall deal
with these three years with horrible judgment.
18 In the same day the LORD made a
covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I
given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the
great river, the river Euphrates:
19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites,
and the Kadmonites, 20 And the Hittites, and the
Perizzites, and the Rephaims, 21 And the Amorites,
and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the
Jebusites.
This promised land and the final
territory of Israel is huge. It covers from
the land of Egypt, to river Euphrates. This promise
from God shall be fulfilled by Jesus after he
returns at the end of 7 years tribulation, and
enlarges Israel territory to include Egypt all the
way to river Euphrates.
