But where will Jesus come down to the earth at his second advent? There are different views on the location, like directly to Armageddon,or directly to the mount of Olives, or to mount Sinai. Some archeologists very recently claim mount Sinai is actually in NW Saudi Arabia, just south of Jordan, which would agree with:
Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Far northwestern Arabia, where the Midianites were,is south of the wilderness of Paran, which is south of Petra and Bozrah. So, do the scriptures indicate a path of the second advent, from mount Sinai, north through Paran, then north to Petra/Bozrah?Jesus returns with his saints, all riding horses:
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Jude, in reference to this, quotes Enoch, with wording very similar Deuteronomy and Habakkuk:
Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Deuteronomy 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.
Habakkuk 3:3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
Is it possible, that since the wording in Jude is so similar, that the line, above,in Deuteronomy, has a dual fulfilment?Yes, it spoke of the time of the Exodus, but could it also be speaking of the second advent? Then that would further indicate that Habakkuk also has a dual fulfilment, at the second advent. Then, the passage in Judges would now, also in a dual fulfilment,be seen as prophetically describing the second advent:
Judges 5:4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
So, does Jesus return, by coming down on mount Sinai, as he did in the Exodus? Then, does Jesus march northward, with his armies, through the wilderness of Paran, through Edom, up to Bozrah and Petra? There to rescue his people who have been hid for 1260 days? Then to fight his way northward?
Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
Then after defeating enemies in Bozrah, and delivering Israel that had been hid in the wilderness, to march to Armageddon?
Judges 5:19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
Certainly it is probably not good to be dogmatic about this possible path of the second advent.Others hold that Jesus returns from heaven directly to Armageddon, and others hold that he comes directly to the mount of Olives. Also, for those holding to Jesus returning via mount Sinai to Bozra/Petra,there are two different views as to where from there:One teaching is that Jesus marches and fights from Bozrah,up through Judah, Ephraim, and Manasseh to Armageddon. The other is that Jesus marches and fights northward, and first retakes Gilead and Bashan on the east bank, for Israel. Then that he crosses the Jordan river, the same way and at the same place that Joshua did, then marching up to Armageddon. Then marching down to Judah, to deliver the tents of Judah before Jerusalem. Then march to the mount of Olives, to deliver Jerusalem, and to defeat the enemies in the valley of Jehoshaphat.
The scriptures do not necessarily disprove these different views, and these can be viewed somewhat in the scriptures. Therefore, it is probably not good to be dogmatic, one way or the other,on these different views. So, it is desirable to see how these scriptures all fit together, from Jesus coming in the clouds, all the way to the valley of decision.
Regardless of which of these views is held, the doctrine that Jesus is coming back,is a major fundamental doctrine of the faith:
Psalms 96:13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
