Many are led away from Christ and identifying with His death and suffering either intentionally or having been deceived by those who preach another Christ. Namely, the gospel of prosperity and positive confession for earthly success.  It is a shortcut to God and the glories of His kingdom offered by Satan to those who are not under the control of the Holy Spirit and desire Satan's kingdom... now.  

Jesus refused Satan's offer in the desert to rule and enjoy life ...now and rebuked Peter who delivered Satan's offer to avoid His suffering and death on the cross... now and thus fail to fullfill God's perfect will for eternity.

 

Jesus clearly teaches us what it means to be His disciple and to be worthy of Him... To lay down our lives to death so that His life, in us, can minister to others.  We are to humble ourselves so that, He might lift us up. Those who want to be great in His kingdom must become the servant of all. To lose your life in this world is to save it.... for His life to manifest in you. We are to walk humbly before our Lord. To lift up Jesus our Divine Lord, Savior and God so that He might draw all men to Himself and not to the supermen of this world.
