"THE 1599 GENEVA BIBLE EXPLAINS DANIEL 9:26-27"

THE 1599 GENEVA BIBLE EXPLAINS DANIEL 9:26-27 IN ITS FOOTNOTES.........

The following are the transcriber's footnotes from the 1599 Geneva Bible  which pre-dates the 1611 King James Bible by 12 years :

Footnotes for Daniel 9:26-27 at the bottom of Page 882

Daniel 9:26     (1)   In the last week of the seventy weeks shall Christ come to preach and suffer death

                          (2)   He shall seem to have no beauty, nor to be of any estimation, as stated in Isiah 53:2

                          (3)   Prince Titus, the Roman Vaspasian's son, shall come and destroy both the temple and Jerusalem , and leave the people without hope of recovery

Daniel 9:27    (1)   By the preaching of the gospel He, Jesus, confirmed His promise, first to the Jews

                         (2)   Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection

                         (3)   Jerusalem and the Sanctuary shall be utterly destroyed for their rebellion against God  ( that happened in 70 AD )

The following is the Apostle Paul's description of the ministry of Jesus Christ :

Romans 15:8

"Now I say that Jesus Christ was the minister of the circumcision for the Truth of God TO CONFIRM the Covenant promises made unto the Fathers."

The above footnotes to the Scriptures and Romans 15:8 are all speaking of the ministry of Jesus Christ which was to confirm the Abrahamic Covenant promises which were made by God to  Abraham, Issac, and Jacob including the promise of a Messiah to be sent to them . Therefore the "he" in Daniel 9:27 is Jesus Christ - not the anti-Christ.

Come Lord Jesus!
