Gino,Genesis 15:6
"And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness."Isaiah 64:6
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”Luke 21:36
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."Romans 12:3
"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."In your post of http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/sep2019/gino929-7.htm you wrote of not being worthy to go. Please, for a moment, recall what Scripture says about Abraham: "And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness." Genesis 15:6 (KJV).1. Who "counted it to him for righteousness"?
2. Whose righteousness was imputed to Abraham?
3. Why was Abraham's belief/faith insufficient?
4. How does this square with Isaiah 64:6?
5. Is our "worthiness" any better than Abraham's?
6. Why is "worthiness" counted/accounted/imputed to us?
7. Whose worthiness is counted/accounted/imputed to us?
8. If we consider ourselves worthy without being counted/accounted/imputed as worthy, do we violate Romans 12:3?My dear brother, may God Himself give you peace and understanding.Don
