I have always thought that Judas was a revoulationary called a Zealot in Bible times…

I think that Judas wanted Jesus to be a p[rophet like Elijah, calling fire down from heaven upon the Romans

Liberating Israel and thereby putting himself in power as Jesus right hand man…

He wanted Earthly power ambition rule.

I think, as have others, that Judas wanted to force Jesus hand to act not just meekly talk,,,

In the end, he realized his mistake and killed himself…
