I happened to be watching a documentary about World War One last night, when the narrator mentioned this story - that circulated widely and refused to go away. It was trashed by the media and the powers that be, at that time....but the tale lingered and took hold. There were so many witnesses. From the German side as well as the British. Quoting from one of the links, "The Battle of Mons was the first major battle of World War One. Mons was a battle of movement - unlike the battles that followed which involved trench warfare". In the link from Wikipedia, it says, "Mons gained a myth - a miraculous tale that the "Angels of Mons" - angelic warriors sometimes described as phantom longbowmen from Agincourt - saved the British Army by halting the German troops".

According to accounts, a very bright ghostly figure on a transparent white horse, appeared out of nowhere and started to attack the Germans (My comment:- In one account I read that the figure on the white horse was carrying a bow) and this divine apparition was followed by by what is now known as the bowmen. One account comes from German prisoners who stated, in their won words, a force of phantoms armed with bows and arrows, attacking their troops - and these phantom bowmen were led by a towering figure on a shining white horse. There are many links regarding this story. Many of them claiming *fake news* and *mass hysteria*. In one account, the German Kaiser had described the British as a "group of contemptibles" which reminded me of a famous quote from Hilary Clinton describing Republican voters as "a basket of deplorables". Funny how evil tends to use the same language !!
This all served to remind me of the pale green horse seen on the world news in 2011. In Egypt - at the start of the Arab Spring. It also reminds me of the bright orbs that were witnessed during WW2 by the RAF and the Luftwaffe. These orbs were named "Foo Fighters". And, finally, and most importantly, it brings to mind 2 Kings 6 : 8 - 23.
