"To Doug L re What
becomes of believers who are not ready 23 Oct 2016 from
Jane A"
I was interested to read your post `what becomes of believers
when they are not ready` what are your thoughts on the
following?
In Revelation 2 vs 20 - 29 the Lord is speaking to the
angel of the church in Thyatira.
Jezebel ( ? false teaching) is being allowed in this
church. If these false teachers of false doctrines and the
followers of these false doctrines do not repent, the Lord will
throw them (the false teachers and their followers) into
great tribulation. If they repent before the tribulation they
will not be thrown into great tribulation.
See in Rev 2 vs 20 - 29
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because
thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a
prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit
fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she
repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit
adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of
their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches
shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts:
and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as
have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of
Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to
him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of
a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of
my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto
the churches.
Is this a reference to what will happen to the unwise virgins?
Does this mean that the unwise virgins will be in the great
tribulation for a short while and then they will be raptured out
of great tribulation when they have repented? See Rev 7 vs
9 – 17.
Revelation 7 vs 9- 17 (KJV)
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man
could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and
tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed
with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God
which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about
the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on
their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and
thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God
for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are
these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have
washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the
Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him
day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne
shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither
shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed
them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Does this mean that the wise virgins will be raptured
before the tribulation begins? See Rev 4 vs 1 - 11
Revelation 4 vs 1 - 11(KJV)
1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in
heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a
trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will
shew thee things which must be hereafter.
2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was
set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine
stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight
like unto an emerald.
4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and
upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in
white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and
voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the
throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto
crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the
throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like
a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth
beast was like a flying eagle.
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and
they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night,
saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is,
and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him
that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on
the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and
cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and
power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure
they are and were created.
To me it seems that the Elders in Revelation 4 represent
the true Church, the Bride of Christ.
