Spiritual Dams and Storm Walls

 

 

 

There are walls and bulwarks that have surrounded and protected our country which man didn’t build by bulldozers. These were unseen spiritual dams and walls provided by God Himself, because there were men and women of God who prayed and acted as His Spirit guided their thoughts and will.  These spiritual foundations were laid in place which made Christian America the strongest and most blessed of any nation on earth.

 

For a time. 

 

It only took two murderous minds guiding their aircraft into the twin towers of New York to send monuments of success crashing to the earth in clouds of ash and rubble.  Suddenly, those spiritual walls were breached.

 

What lessons were learned and which went unheeded?  

 

Alarms were blaring long before it happened. Did we not see or hear any spiritual warnings, even as millions of our unborn were callously aborted here in Christian America, even to the selling of their tiny body parts?

 

The unprecedented storm that hit the Carolinas the last few days was a repeat of what had happened in New Orleans years earlier.  A similar warning to America--- that our front doors and dams we thought were strong enough to withstand anything, proved otherwise.

 

The misguided trust we have put in ungodly men has revealed our own lack of discernment and given them power over our country and its destiny.

 

Do we see the spiritual warnings now sounding  in our Western droughts, the sinkholes of Florida, the weather changes, the unprecedented illegal drug usage, the anti-God demands, the rise of sexual perversion?  More important,  the inability and lack of will to do much about it?

We search for whom or what to blame, yet it is not great numbers that have ever impressed God.  It is the sincerity and faith of the few that have ever affected history----the few that would humble themselves, confessing (and doing something about) their faults and sins, and praying without ceasing for their families, their country, their pastors and leaders.  God honored their prayer cries, just as He did for Abraham when he pled with the angels to spare the righteous in Sodom.

 

We do not have time to delay.  Lot waited too late.  He was called righteous, and only because of his uncle Abraham, the angels of God were sent to lead him and his family out of Sodom.  But over the years,  Lot had not set the example to his own children, enough to keep them from considering his pleas to escape with him and those angels--- considering his cries as nothing more than “foolish Dad’s” preaching. 

Each of us must quickly examine our relationship with God.  Do we assume the “Christian nation” label our founding fathers earned for us insure our invincibility to any defeat, destruction, or collapse of the freedoms we enjoy today?  Wake up!  It is already happening...we have let our courts instill a spirit of compromise.  And at this late hour our very shores are witnessing a tidal wave influx of unbelief being welcomed in to sweep away every moral and Christian storm barrier God ever erected for us. 

 

The sirens are blaring. Unfortunately,

Many have willingly let their spiritual sense of hearing become dulled,

Their will to pray given to despair,

Their fear of reproach silencing their voices,

And their failure to unite together as One.

Which means we welcoming, with open arms, the waves now pouring over those spiritual dams and walls.

May God forgive and help us.
