"About God's Calendar"

About God's Calendar

The Genesis record tells us that in the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth and God rested on the 7th day.

The times, including the days, months and years are specific during
only one occasion in Genesis and that is the flood and it's
duration.  The flood began in the 2nd month on the 17th day - that's
what we're told.

The question is what month did the calendar begin?  The month of
March or September and why should it matter?

First of all why is there so much confusion over this issue as to what
month that the flood did actually occur?

My theory and IMHO it has to do with the time of the dispersion and
after the fall of Babel.  Babel relates to the Jewish term "confusion",
so I've read.  If so, it's possible that during this period of history, when
God changed the languages, etc., that the calendar months also may
have become a matter of interpretation.    Numerous changes existed.
How much of the initial record was forgotten and lost during the turmoil
and confusion of that time - especially over 1000 yrs. until the time of
Moses?

Then along comes Moses and the Exodus when God's intervention
interrupts the then established calendar order and proclaims (or
reclaims) what initially was the 1st calendar month and that being
March.   By the time over 1000 years had passed, who knows what the
calendar schedule was by then, but God had come to establish order
through His elect - Israel.  When He tells Moses that March will be the
first month that wasn't because it was something new IMO,  but contrary
to some teachings, rather He wanted to get things back on track.

Just the fact that the record is devoid of any set times, or that any
specific day, month, or year is recorded after the flood until the time
of Moses and the Exodus is strong evidence for the possibility that the
correct calendar was disrupted throughout the prevailing years.

After Exodus and throughout the remaining pages of the Bible, there
are numerous precise days/months/years which are specific
dates given for the record.   Many of these specific dates are celebrated
today - Passover; Resurrection; Ascension and  Pentecost, etc., for
example.    These were to be days to celebrate and days of remembrance
and observance for generations to come.  The only difference now is
that we currently have altered the initial feast dates in accordance with the
moon cycle - which is scriptural.   Nevertheless, the initial dates which
originated in historical times, are or should not be disregarded, but will
IMO be a cause for observance throughout eternity.   Therefore, those
initial dates that originated and given in the biblical record, are the
dates used in "God's Calendar Study" - see link......

Now, why is it relevant for us to know what month marked the beginning?
Well, one reason is that it is important to us "Rapture Watchers" who are
dedicated in establishing possible Rapture dates and capturing the
historic meaning and purpose of feasts and their relevance in our
search for the possibility of His return - the importance of having
precise dates and times is invaluable to our study.  Without the record
that was provided to us, we'd be unable to determine even which day
we are currently on with any sense of accuracy.

If you want to celebrate your birthday, do you alter the date according
to the number of leap days in any given number of years?  No, we
celebrate the initial date of our birth.  Even though our current schedule
for the celebration of Feast days is altered according to the moon cycle,
should we not  honor and keep in mind the precise initial and historical
dates for the Feasts?

The genealogies that were recorded had provided the number of years
up to the time of the Exodus, but nothing other than the flood had given
us precise days and months of events - even the birth dates were
omitted in the genealogy record leading to the birth of Jesus.  It seems
God was waiting for His time to devulge what would be the proper
occasions for His people to observe.   His calendar that would be
honored and preserved throughout eternity.  God had in mind a special
people and nation (Israel) who would be the light of the world for all
to see.  A people who would  bring Him honor and glory through their
observance and dedication to Him.  From the Exodus forward, we find
strategic dates for special events.  The dedication of Solomans Temple
as an example happened on the Feast of Tabernacles - the 7th month (Sept.)
and on the 14/15th day .  The time of the Babylonian Captivity began on
July 7 lasting for exactly 70 years.  The Crucifixion on March 14/15, and
after 3 days His Resurrection - not to forget the precise date of April 26/27
for the Ascension and May 6/7 for Pentecost.  These dates enable us today
to determine possible time-frames for His return based on the initial dates
that remain for observance throughout eternity.

By using the 360/day calendar up to the time of Christ and the 365.25
day to present, are the means that I was able to develop "God's Calendar
Study",  along with the additional historical record given most
accurately through various historians.   Then too, of course,  through
the biblical record given for various times and events - beginning with
the genealogy record in Genesis.   Even Strongs Concordance has
established a yearly record that you can locate in the back of his
concordance.  There, he lists the precise year for the flood moving
forward to the time of Abraham's  birth.

Today most theologians agree we are over 6,000 yrs. since creation.
But, setting that aside, let's establish our current time-frame of 2015
years.   In doing so, it's irrelevant as to the exact time we began the
current count for we are at a literal 2015 yrs. from sometime  in the
past.    I believe that is the very count God has ordained for us to
have today in order to establish precise methods in our quest as
Rapture Watchers and our efforts to determine His imminent
return for the Church.   Can we know the exact day He will come?
I don't know - probably not absolutely, but we can exercise the use
of possibilities through the absolute accounts of certain events that
have been secured for us in the biblical record - i.e. the Feast days,
and historical dates as well as the prophetic word which was given
to us for end-time signs that will signal His soon appearance.

This should explain how and why for the most recent dates I've
developed as possibilities for the Rapture that I have in another
post.   I see the initial PASSOVER and PENTECOST dates as strong
possibilities for the Rapture - see "Rapture Updates".

It would appear we have all that is needed to adopt a concensus that
not only are we in the last days, but the Rapture is at the door and at
any moment He can issue the call - "come up hither".
