BLOOD MOON SEEN IN SKIES OVER ISRAEL ON FIRST NIGHT OF SUKKOT

While thousands of Israelis were sleeping in their sukkot (temporary booths) on the first night of the seven day Sukkot festival, the long anticipated "blood moon" eclipse could be witnessed in the skies overhead. This photo was taken of the blood moon in the skies over Israel.

Comment by Cheryl Mavrikos I also found it quite "unusual" that the totality of the eclipse lasted for well over an hour and a half, if not longer...far longer than any total lunar eclipse that I ever observed. It seemed as if time stood still. And I wonder, if Hashem stopped the moon in its orbit, would we know? He controls time and space, and His miracles are so vast that we can barely comprehend them.

Blood Moon Over Jerusalem

This past Sunday/Monday-morning thousand around Israel got out of bed earl morning (about 4:30 am to 5:50 am) to witness the much talked about final "Blood Moon" of the tetrad which has just ended. I awoke about 5 am and as I sighted the moon for the first time off of my bacony in Jerusalem the word "ominous" came into my spirit. That is a word I have never used in my almost 65 years of life. I actually came into the house later on and looked up the meaning of this word which entered my mind and spirit. The difinition of the word "ominous is:  "giving the impression that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen; threatening; inauspicious".

After hearing that word I began to ponder a word that was spoken earlier at a worship gathering we had at the "Apple of His Eye" Prayer House where Linda and I live in Jerusalem. A prophetic pastor from Chile was with us (about 35 people from the nations) as we worshiped to bring in the beginning of this "appointed Time" of The Lord called Tabernacles (Succot). About an hour into our time of worship this pastor was in great travail and weeping and it was very obvious the hand of the Lord was upon him. He later shared with us what he was hearing in the spirit. "As the Moon comes forth as Blood Red, so shall the streets of Jerusalem be filled with blood in the near future"         Please pray, Oh Lord in the midst of judgement remember mercy.

From the prophet Habukkuk we see these words: O LORD, I have heard thy speech, [and] was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. Hab 3:2

But thank God we know His plan is for good. Even though there is coming a time of judgement, the Lord's objective is not to destroy but to discipline and turn to righteousness those who will respond to Him. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Isa 26:9

Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

With these scriptures in mind there was a reminder of God's faithfulness as on the morning before the blood moon This Wedding Dress apeared at the entrance to the Jaffa Gate of The Old City of Jerusalem (above the gate)

But thank You Lord for Your promises to Your people Israel:

"Turn, O backsliding sons, says Jehovah; for I am married to you; and I will take you one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.  And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. And it will be when you have multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says Jehovah, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of Jehovah! Nor shall it come to mind; nor shall they remember it; nor shall they visit it; nor shall it be made any more. At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Jehovah; and all nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Jehovah, to Jerusalem. Nor shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart. In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance to your fathers. Jer 3:14 -18

Pray for us here in Israel and for all that are yet to return to the Land and to their Husband The Lord. The time to purify the Lord is at hand and she will arise spotless and pure before Him. I for one do not just want to be a part of the invited "guests" but I want to be a part of this glorious Bride. Are you making yourself ready? Do we know what it is the King desires? And are we pursuing this purification unto righteousness? This message I think is very much worth the listen to see what is necessary for to
make the Bride ready.

This wedding dress hanging from David's Citadel in Jerusalem was created as a piece of modern art by local artist Motti Mizrachi. The dress was inspired by the famous poem about the Land of Israel, "Oh Land, My Land" (Adamah Admati). The poem declares: "I betrothed you with blood that grew red and fell silent" referring to the murder of the Jewish leader Alexander Zaïd at the hand of Arabs in 1938. Christian pilgrims coming for the 2015 Sukkot celebrations have interpreted the dress as a prophetic sign of the "Bride of Christ" awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus. An interesting twist to the story is that Zaïd, the subject of the poem and the inspiration for the dress, was the son of a Jewish father and Subbotnik mother. Subbotniks were Sabbath-keeping non-Jews in the Russian Empire, most of whose descendants have made Aliyah to Israel.
