"The HAMMER of ROMANS 13"

                        The HAMMER of ROMANS 13

To OBEY or NOT to OBEY......That is the QUESTION.  If Rom: 13 is to be taken
at face value, (literal) we could infer that no matter what the government is that
is in place, it's there because GOD wants it to be.  And by R13 we are to "obey"
that government. Right? That's what most of us take to be the case. But what if
that Gov. and it's edicts are so evil that it goes against our very Spiritual Nature
as to be abhorrent. What do we do then? If that Gov. Tells us to turn in our Jewish
neighbors, do we OBEY?  A literal interpretation of R.13 would be to do so. That
would be "Obeying" the Gov. right?  Well my take on the R.13 message is a bit
different. I have always believed it means to keep your head down, mind your own
business, and let the HOLY SPIRIT guide your EVERY MOVE. HE is my Government,
no matter what time-frame we find ourselves in, HE is there for us
through the ages, and for ever!  We have, after all, the promise of the LORD that
HE will watch over HIS sheep, HE is the GOOD SHEPHERD and we need not worry
but to TRUST IN HIM with ALL THINGS. However, we are NOT to "willfully" break
the Law of the Gov. we find ourselves under and if we feel that that would be
impossible for us to do in certain circumstances, we could do what HIS people
have always done in situations like that, (with the Holy Spirit's Blessing of course)
and that is to FLEE !  Lots of examples of "fleeing" in the Bible.
But the argument here is that of the "Silent Church" in the face of so many
un-GODLY laws, tenants, societal norms and acceptances that we see in our
Nation today that many feel we are not being good witnesses of our Faith by
keeping silent on these conditions and are using R.13 as our reason for doing so.
Is that true? Is that what is really keeping the "Church" quiet and thereby accepting
all this evil? If that is the case, I feel it demonstrates the LACK of the HOLY SPIRIT
in the Church as the underlying cause of a "troubled" outlook on what is occurring.
The HOLY SPIRIT is the bringer of PEACE.  Where is the Peace? If Peace is absent,
so is the HOLY SPIRIT. HE is the SOLE SOURCE OF PEACE in our World in any
timeline.  Do you think the Church of yesteryear didn't have their evil to deal with
in their day? The answer for PEACE, in ANY AGE and CIRCUMSTANCE has always
been the HOLY SPIRIT.  Then and now!  We could rightfully conclude that the HOLY
SPIRIT and PEACE are synonymous. To me, the lack of PEACE means only one
Thing..............SEEK HIS VOICE !
