""Are King James Bible Believers a Cult?""

All Doves:

The charge that King James Bible believers are a cult is similar to the charge that they worship the Bible.  It is as a result of the same frustration and born of the same malice.  Sadly, when facts do not prove them right, character assassination is always in order.  Liberals, be they religious or political, can't deal with evidence contrary to their point of view, no matter how thorough or comprehensive it might be.

Cults are somewhat difficult to define, although there are two outstanding characteristics evident in all cults:

First, a cult has a central body leadership that makes decisions for all of its disciples.  Most King James Bible believers are fiercely independent and many times they disagree about other doctrines, even with one another.  Their only central authority is the Bible, not a college or university or a religion that tries to pass itself off as Biblically orthodox.

Secondly, most cults fear that their disciples will investigate their opposition's beliefs and then be converted by the truth.  Therefore they make strict rules of their disciples, disallowing books and materials that disagree with  their doctrine.

There are many other factors by which one can simply define a cult.  I posted an article three months back that identified the characteristics of the "Cult".  My post on "SDA Aberrations -1" - dated June 1st, 2014, quoted from 'The 'Apologetics Study Bible' on page 1,874.  The essence of that article was to show that the SDA Cult met 19 out of 27 points identifying a "Cult"  I encourage the reader to go back and become familiar with my June 1st post on the characteristics of the "Cult".  I remind the reader that these were not my words, but those of highly esteemed Bible scholars.  In that post, I even noted that they are the guidelines from the published - 'The Apologetics Study Bible'.   The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 5:11, had something to say about such folks not considered Orthodox believers.  The Apostle Paul, would be by the liberal's definition of terms, a "heresy hunter."  So to be labeled a "heresy hunter" along with the esteemed Apostle Paul, I consider it both a badge of honor and dignity.  In pastoral ministry since June of 1965, I defined myself as a "Truth Seeker"!

Just because we live in a culture that embraces "pluralism", it does not mean that we as Bible believing Christians are required to embrace the 'bait and switch' of 'Ecumenism' and Vatican II.  To label us as "heresy hunters" is a bogus argument.  Tell that to Evangelist Mike Gendron of "Proclaiming the Gospel" ministries.  Mike is a former Roman Catholic from Plano, Texas, who proclaims the Gospel to Roman Catholics all over the USA.

Again, since the facts and evidence support the Authorized Version, the King James Bible believers are not afraid to study the charges of their critics.  The reader can easily see by going back to my June 1st, 2014 post; that folks that have chosen to rely on their KJV Bibles are not cultists.  In a coming post, I will elaborate on the pros and cons of the KJV Bible vs. other contemporary Bibles.  In the meantime, I am content in knowing that my KJV Bible is 98.2% accurate.  As noted previously, the remaining 1.8% that does not meet God's "Heptadic" Design Feature, are of little or no affect to the overall message.

Liberalism, down through the centuries, in the church, has done so much harm and damage to the faith; the times we live in require believers to not be shy or bashful about their trust in the KJV Bible.  I certainly am not reticent in my remarks about how it has neutered most of the body of Christ today.  In the decline of the church today, ironically, it is the Bible Fundamentalist preachers that continue to see their churches grow and flourish while the liberal denominations have largely become mostly social clubs, and I might add on the verge of extinction, having lost the voice of moral authority of the Word of God.  In the last half-century it has become a dirty word in the church to be identified as a Bible believing "Fundamentalist".  Most people today have no idea what a "Fundamentalist" is.  They somehow equate it with Ebola.

Without going back in time to explain the "Fundamentalist" movement that began in the 1920's, to be a "Fundamentalist" meant believing in the basic "Five Fundamentals" essential for Christianity:

    1.  The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ -(John 1:1; John 20:28; Hebrews 1:8-9).
    2.  The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ -(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27).
    3.  The Blood Atonement of Jesus Christ -(Acts 20:28; Romans 3:25; 5:9; Ephesians 1:7).
    4.  The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ -(Luke 24:36-46; 1st Corinthians 15:1-4; 15:14-15).
    5.  The Inerrancy of the Scriptures themselves -(Psalms 12:6-7; Romans 15:4; 2nd Timothy 3:16-17; 2nd Peter 1:20).

Who would have thought that the day would come to be labeled a "Fundamentalist" was a vile word and meant to be avoided?  Oh, but do not forget, it was the KJV Bible that revealed history in advance of where we are today in the spectrum of the forces of evil.  Because I can trust the Word of God, as preserved in the KJV Bible, I wear the label with dignity and honor.

Blessings to all,

Pastor Bob
