"Seventy
weeks [of years, or 490 years] are decreed upon your people and upon
your holy city [Jerusalem]...to bring in everlasting righteousness
(permanent moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation)..."
[Dan.9:24][AMP]
The Jewish people and the city of Jerusalem, are the Lord's time clock that reveals to us where we are on the Lord's Timeline.
The 490 Years are split into 3 separate time periods.
49 Years + 434 Years + 7 Years = 490 Years
The city of Jerusalem was completely destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BC.
Jeremiah had prophesied that Israel would remain in captivity in Babylon for 70 Years, and Jerusalem would remain a desolate city for that length of time.
"And this whole land shall be a waste and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years." [Jeremiah 25:11]
Daniel was just a teenager when he was taken to Babylon, and by the time the 70 Years was almost up he was around 85 Years old!
He already knew about Jeremiah's prophecy and decided to pray for his people, and the city of Jerusalem around 539 BC.
"...I, Daniel, understood from the books the number of years which, according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass by before the desolations [which had been] pronounced on Jerusalem should end; and it was seventy years. And I set my face to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer..." [Daniel 9:2,3][AMP]
The Lord heard Daniel's prayer, and sent the Angel Gabriel to him, to show him the Timeline of two restorations of Jerusalem, and as a consequence, the timing of the Lord's 1st coming as a baby, born of a virgin, and His 2nd coming in the heavens, to gather up His saints!

"Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks [of (49) years] and sixty-two weeks [of (434) years]; it shall be built again with [city] square and moat, but in troublous times." [Daniel 9:25][AMP]
This prophecy was fulfilled in Month 1 Year 434 BC when king Artaxerxes issued the commandment for the restoration and building of Jerusalem!
For we read,
"In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad before in his presence."
"So the king said to me, Why do you look sad, since you are not sick? ...And said to the king, Let the king live forever! Why should I not be sad faced when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchers, lies waste, and its [fortified] gates are consumed by fire?"
"The king said to me, For what do you ask? So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to [him], If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you will send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ sepulchers, that I may rebuild it...And a letter to Asaph, keeper of the king’s forest or park, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the fortress of the temple and for the city wall..." [Neh. 2:1-5,8][AMP]
"Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince...sixty-two weeks [of [434] years]
The above verse is referring to the Lord's 1st Coming!
We count down from 434 BC [62 weeks] to 1 BC then to 1 AD.
There is no Year 0!
In 1 AD The Lord Jesus Christ, the Anointed One, a Prince, was born of a virgin by the name of Mary!
Daniel was then told,
"...after the sixty-two weeks [of (434) years] shall the Anointed One be cut off or killed and shall have nothing [and no one] belonging to [and defending] Him." [Daniel 9:26][AMP]
This is exactly what happened, for on Day 14 Month 1 Year 33 AD [Friday the 3rd of April 33], the Lord was crucified!
The Lord rose from the dead on Day 16 Month 1 Year 33 [Sunday the 5th of April 33 AD].
Then the Lord ascended up into heaven a few weeks later, from where He poured out His Holy Spirit, on the Day of Pentecost.
The Holy Spirit is God's gift to all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and God.
In 33 AD, the city of Jerusalem continued to exist for another 37 Years until it was completely destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.
"And the people of the [other] prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood; and even to the end there shall be war, and desolations are decreed." [Dan.9:26][AMP]
This is a fulfillment of prophecy showed to Daniel by the angel Gabriel!
Now this is where things really begin to get interesting!
"Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks [of (49) years] and sixty-two weeks [of (434) years]; it shall be built again with [city] square and moat, but in troublous times." [Daniel 9:25][AMP]
Most Bible scholars that have studied the above verse tend to add seven weeks [49 Years] to sixty two weeks [434 Years] to arrive at a total of sixty nine weeks [483 Years].
This is wrong because the angel Gabriel told Daniel that the Anointed One will be killed after sixty-two weeks [434 Years] and not after sixty nine weeks [483 Years]!
"...after the sixty-two weeks [of (434) years] shall the Anointed One be cut off or killed and shall have nothing [and no one] belonging to [and defending] Him." [Daniel 9:26][AMP]
I believe the angel Gabriel was revealing to Daniel that the city of Jerusalem was be restoreda second time, in our generation, after it was destroyed in 70 AD!
The 2nd restoration of Jerusalem occurred within the 49 Years that precede the 120th Jubilee Year!
On the 1st Day of the 120th Jubilee Year, which is on Day 10 Month 7 Year 6000 [4th/5th October 2014] I believe the Anointed One, the Lord Jesus Christ, will come again to receive up into heaven all those who love Him!
I believe when King Artaxerxes issued the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem in Month 1 434 BC, he was also issuing, at the same time, in our generation, the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem in Month 7 Year 5951 [Sept./Oct. 1965]!
The building and restoration of Jerusalem began from the 7th of June 1967!
The 120th Jubilee Year will end on Day 30 Month 6 Year 6000 [14th/15th September 2015]
Then Daniel's last week [of 7 Years] will begin!
49 Years + 434 Years + 7 Years = 490 Years
This will be from Day 1 Month 7 Year 6001 [15th/16th September 2015]
I believe, by this time, the third temple would have been built and completed.
Also offerings and animal sacrifices will once again be permitted on the temple Mount in Jerusalem!
42 Months later, by Day 30 Month 11 Year 6003 [16th/17th February 2018] the Antichrist will stop all burnt offerings and animal sacrifices from taking place!
Then God's final Judgement, that brings complete desolation, will be poured out all over the World, for another 42 Months!
For we read,
"And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator." [Daniel 9:27]
God's final Judgements will come to an end by Day 30 Month 4 Year 6007 [10th/11th of July 2021]
This brings Daniel's 70 Week Prophecy to an end!

I believe when King Artaxerxes issued the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem in Month 1 434 BC, he was also issuing, at the same time, in our generation, the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem in Month 7 Year 5951 [Sept./Oct. 1965]!
21 Months later, on the 7th of June 1967, Israel recaptured Jerusalem in the six Day war!
The building and restoration of Jerusalem began from the 7th of June 1967!
The 120th Jubilee Year will end on Day 30 Month 6 Year 6000 [14th/15th September 2015]
Then Daniel's last week [of 7 Years] will begin!
49 Years + 434 Years + 7 Years = 490 Years
This will be from Day 1 Month 7 Year 6001 [15th/16th September 2015]
