Hi Gino,
I'm sorry if my evaluation was unclear, or post confusing to you Gino. When the soldiers approached the
disciples and the other camp followers of Jesus they encountered a group of homeless men of no apparent means,
or ornamentation. Basically, they looked upon this group as a bunch of worthless bums.
Judas needed to ID Jesus, because
he was a ordinary looking man who was accustomed to hardship and toil.
Most of the Temple Guards had never seen Jesus before, so they needed
help singling him
out. You need to remember at any time there could have been as many as
40 people following Jesus.
What I'm happy to quote you from John is
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Agape,
Michael Curtiss
