"Julie and Pastor Bob"
Julie...What Pastor Bob taught in his "In Christ" 3
and 4 is 100% correct. A coin has two sides...a head and a tail. Jesus
is Savior, our Master and the greatest love of our lives but being God,
He is also our Judge. Pastor Robert Morris on one of his TV sermons
covered this question. As an example that there is a huge difference in
receiving Christ and being filled with the Spirit. I thought Pastor Bob
was going to show us but his thoughts were moving slightly different. Go
to Acts 8:13 to 17. In verse 13 and 14 the people had come to faith in
Jesus. In 15 thru 17, we see that it was paramount in the
disciples/apostles thinking and understanding that the Spirit of
HOLINESS fall upon them or for them to receive His power. Why? It turned
disciples into apostles. It turned 120 people afraid for their lives
into strong unafraid witnesses. Paul said in 1 Corinthians the he came
not with fancy speech but with POWER. He said he spoke in Tongues more
than all the others. Why again? When our spirit speaks a heavenly
language or one foreign to us, we bypass our thinking and God's Spirit
is able to build up the inner man within us. This isn't a pride thing.
Quite frankly, it is an eye opener. We see spiritually much better. Our
relationship with the Lord soars. It is as the Psalms says...We are
filled to overflowing with the Spirit of God. OK...The next part is also
critical to grasp. You are really asking the theological question of
whether we can walk away from God and end up in Hell. If I feel well one
day this week, I will try. The Godhead of the Father, Son (the Word)
and the Spirit of Holiness love you. His Eye is on you and never ever
leaves you. Snuggle in next to Him and relax. Spend time with Him.
Commit all that you are and ever will be to Him. Lastly...be still and
quiet before Him and see if there is anything inside that needs to be
taken care of...ie..confessed. The verses that hits me hardest are 1 Pet
1:13-20, 2 Pet 2: 21
