Dear Michael Colunga,
Here’s the problem with this ‘pope’. When did any pope in the history of the papacy tell people that it’s alright to be an atheist, they will still go to heaven as long as they have a good conscience? Every pope in the past wanted to bring people into the catholic religion…not turn them away! Why bother being a Christian or even believing in God, as long as you can still go to heaven!? It seems this guy doesn’t want any converts to ‘catholicism’. My question would be why? (I am not catholic, but the pope is…so why is he acting this way?)
Don’t forget, an agnostic is someone who doesn’t know if there is a God….an atheist is someone who says there is NO God.
He then goes on to have an interview in which he tells his faithful followers that they are obsessed about certain sins like abortion. Can you possibly imagine *any* pope before him saying such a thing??
The icing on this rancid cake is when he mentions the words false prophet and left behind. Anybody following this FP is going to be left behind.
He is an ultra, ultra liberal progressive like the person who I am convinced will become his best friend in the near future. The pope recently bowed before muslim Queen Rania of Jordan…remember all the bows from bo before royalty? Flatteries, and they both do it.
As to the other parts of your letter, I want to say that we should listen to the words of Jesus Christ. He got a crowd to refrain from stoning an adulterous woman. When He looked up and saw that they left without stoning her after He spoke to them….Jesus told her to “GO, AND SIN NO MORE”.
He didn’t tell her that she could keep on sinning…He told her to STOP it.
I quote from your letter:
11Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
I Cor 6:9-11
You will note that the word “WERE” is in the PAST TENSE. This is *key*.
Their sins were not an ongoing situation…they stopped sinning. Read the rest of that chapter to see what Paul thinks of sin.
Now…back to the pope.
The only part of that very long interview that was reported on TV, was the part about catholics being obsessed with homosexuality and abortion. For me the big news was him mouthing the words false prophet and left behind. Not that the media would bother reporting *that*…I had to search for a full transcript to see what else he said, and found it.
There are clues all over for those who dig deep enough.
“Seek and ye shall find.”
-Matthew 7:7
