Hi Gary, Bruce and Michael;

Thanks so much for taking the time to find these verses about the Lord pre-planning our lives. I can see several patterns that make me think my life, my husband's and those of my parents were pre-planned by the Lord.

Several miracles have happened in my life that I can not explain any other way.

My dad was a teacher of math or science, and the principal of my school, until war broke out. He changed to war work at Vigo Ordinance in Terre Haute, IN, and ended up the Safety Engineer at Holston Ordinance Works in Kingsport, TN, after taking a 5-week course at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ - U.S. Army.

I met Ed at Kingsport after he returned from a 32-month stint in the Army.

The Lord woke me up one night and said, "Be still and know that I am God."

Another time, the Lord put a rectangle of light on Jer 50:2 in a darkened room. It said, "Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces."

I love the Lord and all these scriptures you have suggested:

Eph 2:10: "we are God's handiwork, created in Jesus Christ to do good works which God has prepared in advance for us to do".

Eph 1:4: "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight."

Jer 1:5.  "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart".

Psa 139:16. "You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed".

That is sure nice to know. It explains why I have been so "lucky." It was the Lord who got Ed and I to move from Oak Ridge, TN to La Mirada, CA, where we "just happened" to buy our first house near where BIOLA was going to build a new campus. The books about the Bible in their Seminary Collection kept me reading constantly for 7 years. I got the education I needed there, and I could not have foreseen what was coming.

Greetings M. Agee, another 5-doves reader - Michael Colunga posted some good pointers to where in the Bible God talked about planning out our lives - even before we were born, one of those is -

Psalm 139 - verse 16 :
   16You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed

this scripture verse clearly tells us that God has planned out in advance our earthly lives, of course we still have to agree with Him and actually fulfill the mission / assignments that He has called us to do

also in Ephesians 2:10 says " we are God's handiwork, created in Jesus Christ to do good works which God has prepared in advance for us to do "

So i would say yes God has planned out our lives, but we still have to live out and do what He has planned for us to do. God has divine assignments for every Christian believer to fulfill in their earthly lives. He has given each of us spiritual gifts to be used for eternal value. The choice of taking risks, stepping out of the boat and letting God use our lives for His kingdom purposes is up to us. Will we spend our lives on earthly or eternal goals ? Will we seek earthly treasurer of eternal treasurer and heavenly rewards

I would encourage everyone to use your life for God's eternal purposes and store up treasurer in heaven - which will last for all of eternity. Soon Jesus will be returning in the rapture of all saved Christian believers. We will then stand before God at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Where our lives will be reviewed to see if we qualify for eternal rewards. Start using your life today for eternal purposes, it will be the best use of your earthly life, and you will be putting a big smile on your Savior's face !

Maybe the answer to the question you posed is in this verse found in Ephesians 1... 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

Or, it might be found here in Jeremh 1:5.  “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
