"RE: Jovial: 09.29.13:
Jewish Calendar"
Jovial,
I've been wanting to ask this of someone for some time now, and
it seems that you probably know the answer to this.
You had written:
"I was wondering when you refer to the Jewish calendar Do you
have a link to the Jewish calendar that starts with fall?"
Do the Jews in Israel currently celebrate their new year on Rosh
Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets?
Yet when I read about the first Passover, it says:
Exodus: 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of
months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
Then about the Feast of Trumpets:
Leviticus 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In
the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have
a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy
convocation.
Is Passover in the 1st month & Rosh Hashanah in the 7th
month?
Then why is Rosh Hashanah currently celebrated as the Jewish New
Year?
Is it some kind of rebellion, until Zechariah 12:10 is finally
fulfilled?
Or is there another explanation that I know nothing about?
This is why I'm asking you the question, because I'm sure that
you will be able to answer this for me.
Thank you,
Gino
