Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. You raised some good questions and I don't have the answers but will relay some personal experiences. From my perspective and especially in regards to the workplace, some churches, and socially, I have noticed an alarming rejection of Biblical truth from people who would identify themselves as Christian. I have only experienced this in the last 10 years.Taqging on to what Jack Kelley said in Saturday's post: "With the seeker-friendly and emerging church movements, I think the 'falling away' may be taking place before our very eyes." About 4 years ago, I attended a noon-time Bible study at my former workplace. Without going into too much detail, that evening I went before the Lord in prayer (silent prayer) and asked Him, "what was that all about?" Expecting God would correct my understanding, instead He put two words into my spirit, "emergent church." So I contacted a fellow believer, long-time Bible teacher, who proceeded to educate me.I have also talked to Christians who deny the deity of Christ and the trinity (TWI), who identify the Holy Spirit is a "she," who believe God is both male and female, who believe in reincarnation, kaballah, gay-christianity, universalism, only parts of the Bible are correct, etc. When did acceptance of an all-inconclusive counterfeit gospel and political correctness creep in? That's what I understand apostasy to be.Note: I don't believe apostasy is referring to the seed-faith movement nor the prosperity movement. Plus I believe Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever...so I do believe in miracles. God gave me a heart for the supernatural, but He also put me in Bible studies primarily with Baptists where the inerrancy of the Word of God was emphasized...goal being a good Berean...study to show yourself approved, etc."The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following." ~ 1 Timothy 4:1, 6
