Arlene you nailed it. The holy spirit has brought me to complete repentance on trusting in man to save our country. In the past I have voted for men whom I believed to be followers of Christ, and yet once in office they did not uphold biblical Christianity.

Repent means recognizing your error and turning away from it.

How it is that servants to a holy God can think they can vote for God's values or standards to be upheld by men and women who do not serve the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob is something I cant grasp.

Rene if your church is repenting then I suggest you start with repenting from the idolatry that is our political system.

Kevin, I pray the holy spirit will affirm you and uphold you with his mighty right hand.

To be clear on the words from II Chronicles 7:14 God called his people to pray and seek him, and REPENT. HIS people's wicked idolatry was what brought the curse on the land in the first place, don't believe me? Read the whole chapter of that passage.

God's people are the only people that have the power to change this nation, but because of their apostasy they will not repent, but rather ask God as in Malachi ch 3, "how have we sinned against you?" Not willing to recognize their error they will proudly mark a ballot in favor of their candidate.

Without repentance prayer is ineffectual.
