3 Days of Darkness 

 

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.” So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived."

The Three Days of Darkness is a tradition which recalls the plague of Moses against Egypt. Just as God punished the idolatrous Egyptians during the days of Moses with Ten Plagues - including the "three days of darkness," so also, at the end of time will God will punish the entire world with "three days of darkness." The theory holds that the entire earth will be enveloped by perfect darkness lasting the span of three days and three nights.
 
These "3 days of darkness" are the final 3 prophetic days (years) of the 70th week of Daniel. They will start on October 8, 2012, and last until September 23, 2015, exactly 3 prophetic years (3 days of the 'last week' - 3 years of the final 7). They represent the spiritual darkness that will cover the whole earth for 3 prophetic years. But the believers will be with Jesus, the "Light of the World". When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

There is a set of prophecies that I came across around 2003, by a man named (Bishop) John Koyle (you can find information about him on the internet).  He was born in 1864 and died in the 1940s, and lived in Utah.  He had the gift of dreams etc and the majority of his prophecies have already come to pass (the rest seem to be future). He was told by God to never personally write anything down (perhaps because his enemies would alter his writings) but others that listened to him did take notes. One of his main prophecies in regards to the last days and the collapse, was that in the Fall, on the weekend when the banking holiday falls on a Monday (and he did not specify if it would be a regularly scheduled banking holiday or one scheduled all of a sudden), that one would wake up in the morning, and all the utilities would be shut off (for a very long time).  The only regularly scheduled banking holiday in the actual Fall is Columbus Day.


This "banking holiday" on October 8, 2012, Columbus Day, the day the world commemorates the discovery of the "New Promised Land", the prophecy says that people will wake up in the morning and all utilities will be shut off (darkness begins). I'm guessing that this is literal, as well as spiritual. There will likely be something that happens to the power grid and the electricity may go off for a very long time. But this physical manifestation of darkness is only representative of the 3 days (years) of spiritual darkness that will start on this day as well.
