The Big Storm--politically, prophetically, spiritually

The "Frankenstorm" of the century, Sandy, is heading ashore, predicted to mete out billions in damages to life, limb and property. There are many allegorical parallels regarding this storm and the condition of our nation. They are spiritual--the spiritual condition of this nation is in incredible disrepair as recent polling suggests that only 30% of our nation's youth have any religious, let alone Christian, affiliation. Politically, our nation faces unmatched fiscal, moral and economic challenges. Prophetically, the United States is faced with the reality that its leadership has turned against the one true God, YHVH, in both domestic and foreign policy. There are certain consequences. We face a big storm.

White House correspondent and fellow watchman Bill Koenig has documented in his book "Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel" how within 24-48 hours of an American president pressuring Israel in some way has led to economic, political or natural catastrophes. For example, when the US pressured Israel to evacuate the settlements in Gaza and turn it over to the terrorist-run Hamas (which in reality is what happened) Hurricane Katrina formed as a tropical depression August 23, 2005. Posted on his website, watch.org, is a chronology of when Sandy began and when it intensified against a timeline of events orchestrated by the administration of the occupant of the Oval Office.

Koenig reports, "Sandy developed from an elongated tropical wave in the western Caribbean Sea on October 22. It quickly strengthened after becoming a tropical depression and was upgraded to Tropical Storm Sandy six hours later. Sandy moved slowly northward toward the Greater Antilles and gradually strengthened. On October 24, Sandy was upgraded to a hurricane, shortly before making landfall in Jamaica." Currently, the New York stock markets are closed, transit systems in New York and Washington DC are closed. The Federal government is closed. Train and air travel systems are shut down. Some of the most liberal and YHVH-mocking areas of the nation are threatened by Sandy.

Here is the timeline of political events since October 22: Presidential debate where occupant of the Oval Office says Israel-US relations are at an "unprecedented" favorable level; The Administration-backed United Nations Human Rights Council called for nations to divest interests in US companies doing business in Israel; the president endorsed same-sex marriage in Maryland, Maine and Washington (two of the states are in Sandy's path); the Administration continues to lie about what happened in Benghazi; and the list goes on. There is a big storm brewing for this nation as election day nears--in more ways than one. Could Sandy be a Galatians 6:7 type of warning? "Be not deceived; YHVH is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap."
