I agree with you regarding the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. I was in Israel in October 1995 and Rabin was assassinated the week after I arrived back in the U.S. The only time I was frightened while there was when I came out of that church and an Arab approached me trying to sell souvenirs. He had items of jewelry hanging from an outstretched arm. I said no and also indicated I wasn't interested by turning my head from side in the universal no gesture and continued walking away from him. He started cursing me in a very hateful tone and he was following me. The incident abruptly ended when two Israeli soldiers with guns sprinted towards us and he backed off.
