"Ezekiel 12 for 2012? Nearing Fulfilment of Every Vision!!"

Ezekiel 12 for 2012?  Nearing Fulfilment of Every Vision!!

Behold I am coming speedily;  Surely I am coming quickly (Revelation 22: 7, 20)

In the first part of Ezekiel 12 God asks Ezekiel to move out of his home as a warning of the coming Babylonian captivity.  In the last verses of the same chapter (12 to 28) God warns, in strong words, those who are ignoring the warnings from the prophets (including Jeremiah and Ezekiel) that there will be no more delay.  We are called not just to wait for the Rapture, but also to watch and warn others.  Even when dates and events do not work out as we may have expected, we remain called to warn.

The signs of the nearness of His Return are stronger than ever before, and we are poised on the threshold of even greater unveiling of signs and events.  David Wilkerson is just one of many who may not have seen prophesied events take place, and he will now have a heavenly vantage point to witness God’s judgments (in love).  I hope that this letter highlighting Ezekiel 12 will encourage Doves to remain vigilant, and even take risks, so that the warning to the world can rescue people from the awful Babylonian captivity for those who are left behind at the Rapture.

Warning to prophecy sceptics!!!!

One commentary I looked at highlighted the concerns of Ezekiel 12 well.  First, people say the days are prolonged and every vision fails.  That is, time passes but the many threats of doom never come to pass.  God responds through Ezekiel: the days are at hand and the fulfilment of every vision!  These are strong words, but they are the Word of God!  The second attitude is from those who accepted the truth of prophecy, but regarded it as being for times that are far off!  God says that His (prophetic) Words will not be deferred or delayed anymore!

·         The passage from Ezekiel 12 is presented below and is a great response to those who are sceptical of prophecy, reinforcing the strong warning words of Jesus (for example, in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21).

Every Vision Will be Fulfilled!  God’s Words Will No Longer Be Delayed!

Ezekiel 12: 22-28 (NKJ)

22 Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have about the land of Israel, which says, ‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’?  23 Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will lay this proverb to rest, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.”’ But say to them, ‘“The days are at hand, and the fulfilment of every vision.

24 For no more shall there be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel. 25 For I am the Lord.  I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it,” says the Lord God.’”

26 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 27 “Son of man, look, the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’ 28 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak will be done,” says the Lord God.’”

Selected Quotes from the Angelfire Commentary

The proverb is literally, ‘The days, they lengthen and every vision, it dies.’  Thus when the people hear a prophecy they shrug their shoulders and say, ‘it has never happened, it will not happen now.’  These people were aware of the prophecies of past prophets, of warnings about the coming ‘day of Yahweh’.

Israel are to be made to realise that the proverb is now no longer true.  Indeed it will cease to exist. For the opposite is about to prove true. The prophecies of Ezekiel and Jeremiah are about to come to their final awful fulfilment.  ‘The days are at hand.’ That is, are about to burst on them with unexpected speed.

The great problem for Israel was that of conflicting voices. There were the prophets who prophesied peace and security, words pleasing to men’s ears (Jeremiah 28.2-4, 11).  And there were those like Jeremiah and Ezekiel who spoke dire warnings of what was shortly to come.  But now, said Yahweh, this would cease.

For what Yahweh had said, He would do.  He had spoken, and He would bring it about.  Yahweh well knew the hearts of some of the men to whom Ezekiel prophesied.  They did not deny that they would happen, but they assured themselves that they applied to well in the future.  The ‘day of Yahweh’ was well in the future.

There would be no more deferment.  Judgment would come.  The day of Yahweh was here. It ‘will be performed’, for Yahweh Himself would see to its performing. The church today faces a similar position with regard to the second coming. It can easily be seen as something that will not happen yet.  We must watch, lest coming suddenly He find us sleeping.
