Hi Rene....You leave me almost speechless!!  But I recovered enough to want to set the record straight for those who might believe that every Christian should VOTE.  There is nothing further from the truth than what you said about "Our vote IS recorded in heaven."  I would love scripture and verse on that one!!  Nobody in Ninevah exercised their right to VOTE about anything.  And certainly, Jonah didn't either.  And voting for or against Hitler would not have changed a thing.

Since when is "NOT VOTING is NOT a vote for Jesus"????  We are not supposed to care about things of this world.  We are passing through here, and our relationship with the world must be a more distant one.  Letting the world become our focus in life is rendering to Caesar wha! t is God's.  We belong to God, and so our attention and affection must be with Him, and not with the enemy of God (the world).

Philippians 3:18-20....(read it)...bottom line is that our "conversation" should be on heavenly things and not on earthly things.

Colossians 3:2..."Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth."

Romans 12:2...."And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed to the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."

I John 2:15..."Do not love the world or the things in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
James 4:4..."Friendship with the world is enmity with God."

We are not meant to, nor should we EVER want to try to put people into leadership positions by voting, campaigning, or even being concerned about it.  God will put in whom He, alone, chooses.

Daniel 2:21..."And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings and setteth up kings:....."etc.

God will put in His choice without our getting involved it any of it.  We are now being "judged" by bad leaders because we DESERVE it.  And whoever gets elected next (if there is another election), it will be God's choice without our help.  The whole world system is anti-God, and we should p! articipate in it as little as possible. God will eventually take care o! f all the "evil".

That is not my own opinion.  It is what is written in the Bible.

Many people "copped out" of voting when Hitler was coming into power because they felt that it was useless, their vote didn't count, and Jesus was coming soon anyway, so why bother? Our vote IS recorded in heaven. As long as we are still here, I am going to actively participate in the electoral process and pray about it all along the way. Ninevah was sinking too and about to go under God's wrath. He sent Jonah (via the long way - through the whale vomit) to go and preach to Ninevah and warn them. Many people in America are repenting. Our entire church is fasting. We are simply doing what we believe Jesus wants us to do right up until the time He comes to take us out. NOT VOTING is NOT a vote for Jesus! It is a declaration of indifference! Germany fell to Hitler because of the indifference and apathy of many thousands of CHRISTIANS. We are not to be a "silent" majority. We are to be fighting evil, not waiting for it to overtake us!
