Very nicely done.He took on one of SETI's biggest nay sayers who is down playing the mysterious characteristics of this object. The SETI nay sayer is saying this is a natural comet and compares it to another known comet. Or 'nothing to see here, move on.' The Angry Astronaut debunks this. He said this is an amazing opportunity to study a comet that's different from any comet we've ever seen before. Whether it's natural or not, it's displaying things we've never seen before. Perhaps this is a natural object, except it's trajectory is very curious. There are facts with this comet that do not fit the normal, expected comet 'paradigm' some scientists cling to. He doesn't think this interstellar object has anything nefarious about it.Dr Avi Loeb's Analysis:This is from Avi Loeb's information on Medium.Dr. Loeb, Harvard astrophysicist, lists the 12 mysteries concerning 3I/ATLAS:1) Its retrograde trajectory is aligned to within 5 degrees with the ecliptic plane of the planets around the Sun (likelihood of this is 0.2%)2) Unlike other comets, in July, August and November is displayed a sunward jet or anti-tail.3) Compared to the other known interstellar comets - it's nucleus is a million times more massive than I1/Oumuamua and a thousand times more massive than 2I/Borisov - while moving much faster than either (likelihood of 0.1%)4) It' arrival time has brought it within ten million kilometers of Mars, Venus and Jupiter, and be unobservable from Earth at perihelion (closest to the Sun) (likelihood of 0.005%)5) Its gas plume is more nickel than iron (this ratio is only seen in industrial production) and its nickel to cyanide ratio is much larger than other comets (likelihood below 1%)6) Its gas plume is only 4% water by mass - much less than other comets.7) It shows extreme negative polarization -unprecedented for all known comets (likelihood below 1%)8) It arrived from a direction coincident with the radio "Wow! Signal" to within 9 degrees (likelihood 0.6%)9) It brightened faster near perihelion (closest to the Sun) than any other comet and was bluer than the Sun.10) "It exhibits sunward and anti-solar jets which require an unreasonably large surface area in order to absore enough sunlight needed to sublimate enough ice to feed the mass flux of these jets."11) Near perihelion it exhibited non-gravitational acceleration which would have required massive evaporation of at least 13% of its mass - imaged indicated that the object maintained its integrity and did not break up.12) "Its tightly-collimated jets maintain orientation across a million kilometers in multiple directions relative to the Sun despite its measured rotation."Dr. Loeb wrote that "we expect a flood of new data in the coming weeks."3I/ATLAS and "Wow! Signal":Dr. Loeb is interested in any radio detection Earth can pick up from this 'comet'. He has asked radio observatories around the world to "search for radio emissions from 3I/ATLAS given that the arrival direction of 3I/ATLAS coincided to within 9 degrees with the arrival direction of the "Wow! signal' detected in 1977 at frequency of 1.4204556 gigahertz."
