That comment screams ignorance about what's coming. Elon is really into cryptocurrency. Two of the biggest crypto movers lately are Doge Coin and XRP. Elon was appointed to the new government position DOGE, Department of Government Efficiency.
Months ago, Musk, Gates, Buffett, and a few others ran ads saying they would give the equivalent of 9k dollars in Bitcoin to people who go to a certain website address and enter a keyword. I did it to test it and of course it was a lie. Not sure if the point of that was to get as many peoples' information as possible but very weird and it was just glossed over by everyone.
