Hi Linda-

I hope this message finds you well.  I think of you so often and wish I were a better correspondent.  

I'm writing with some medical news and to ask for prayers.  I had recently been having some odd symptoms, and after many medical tests, they have discovered I have developed a rare autoimmune disease that is attacking my transplant.  This isn't a rejection of my kidney, but rather my body attacking the kidney for another reason.  They think it could have been brought on from a drug I took for osteoporosis or perhaps the accumulation of vaccinations over the past few years that revved up my immune system.  Unfortunately it is a serious issue, and currently they are fighting it with large doses of prednisone and increased doses of my immunosuppression drugs to see if they can calm things down.  This approach will continue for at least the next month, with frequent monitoring and blood work.  The doctor is hopeful, but can't promise anything.

At this point, I'm trying to remain calm and hopeful.  I certainly talk to God a lot about this and send up prayers every day that this medical issue can be resolved and I can get back on track to the good health I have enjoyed the past 15 years. At this point it is in his hands.  I know you pray and am asking if you could join me by including me in your prayers during this difficult period.

You have already given me so much, so I feel embarrassed to ask, but hope you can send some prayers and good thoughts my way.
