Forgive me, because somehow I missed reading your letter two weeks ago.

I saw the title, which is rather catchy, in and of itself, but somehow I missed out on it.

So, I'm glad that others pointed it out, so I went back to find it and read it.

You have made some bold and profound statements:

Top among those is no mention in The Revelation of any treaty being broken mid-Trib - for something that important to actually start the Great Tribulation - surely that would have been mentioned!  Right? There is no mention of the Antichrist making a treaty with anyone in The Revelation and no mention of breaking any treaty.  So why has this tribulation 'tradition' continued for so long?  (one verse in Daniel, actually)

 

 And then we have a 1260 day time period mentioned 5 times in The Revelation.  So how do we make that 7 years?  Which 1260 day time periods do we add together to make 7 years?  How about string them all out one after the other and have 5 time periods of 1260 days?  At some point, people have added two of them together, and then added the other three together to make 7 years. (Assuming that the Trib starts with one of these 1260 day counts and ends with it.)  So why wasn't John just told 2520 days?  Was he told 'five times' because the Lord knew we would somehow come up with a 7 year long tribulation time period and He wanted to get through to us that it's really only 3.5 years long?  ??

I never realized that before, that apparently many have arbitrarily added only two of those 1260 day periods together, but not all five.

Perhaps, if the tribulation would be 7 years, then no one would survive until the end?

Mark 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Even though the tribulation is yet future, Jesus said he has already shortened the days.

You also wrote:

Which made me think about how its interesting that Jesus, when speaking of the tribulation, mentions the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet.

Yet, Jesus doesn't speak about a peace treaty, or a strong military agreement, broken midway.

I just find it awfully 'coincidental' that Jesus' ministry was 3.5 years long (and I'll add - I believe it was exactly 1260 days long), that He confirms the covenant with many for one week - but in the middle of the week He ends the sacrifice and offering - Jesus is the last Passover lamb and the curtain to the Holy of Holies is rent in two.  Jesus came during the Seventy Week prophecy of Daniel...His 3.5 years of ministry MUST fit somewhere in those Seventy Weeks.  And in an important place.  I believe He fulfilled the first 3.5 years of the last week and that there are only 3.5 years left - the Tribulation Period.  The time period after He was cut off is the time of the Church age, the time of Grace...and when that time is over...that last 3.5 years of that last 70th week can commence.

I agree with you. It does make sense that Jesus' ministry must fit in an important place in the seventy weeks, and the 1st half of the 70th week makes the most sense.
