I John 1:3b:  and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

 

(When in fellowship with Jesus, it causes spontaneous praise, thanksgiving, and worship.

We see this continually happening with David, when things were going on in his life.

Whether they were moments of victory or joy, or moments of danger or sorrow, David would instantly respond with his lips.

In the very midst of a dramatic moment, David would suddenly begin to sing or recite.

Right then and there, David would compose a psalm to the LORD, out loud, in front of anyone who was there.

Though maybe a while before the words got written down, David, or the others, clearly remembered what those words were.

Anyone else would have fought or fled first, David, instead, first sung or spoke his new psalm to the LORD, then fought or fled.)

 

I Samuel 19:11 Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.

 

Psalms 59 when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.

 

I Samuel 21:12 And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath.

  13 And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.

 

Psalms 34:0 when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.

 

I Samuel 22:1a David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam:

 

Psalms 57:0 when he fled from Saul in the cave.

 

I Samuel 22:22 And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house.

 

Psalms 52:0 when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.

 

II Samuel 12:7a And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man.

  13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

 

Psalms 51:0 when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

 

II Samuel 15:14a And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom:

  30a And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot:

  32a And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God,

 

Psalms 3:0 when he fled from Absalom his son.

 

(Think about what that must have been like, especially for those around David.

As soon as David’s wife told him that men were coming to kill him, before fleeing, David begins singing to the LORD.

David, on the spot, composed and sang Psalm 59.

When David went to the Philistines, and knew that the king of Gath was against him, he feigned that he was mad.

Then as soon as he was delivered, and they sent him away, he composed and sang Psalm 34.

For 3,000 years, people read, or sing, these Psalms, many times over, but there was a moment when they were first composed.

Many of those moments when they were composed, were sudden, on the spot, simultaneous with great dramatic things happening.

 

I had the opportunity of meeting someone, that composed very many poems, where composing them came suddenly, on the spot.

A Sister in our church has a niece, who told me about the poems that came to her, many right on the spot.

A great number of them she has managed to also write down, either at the time, or later, when she could.

Some of the poems are for reciting, and some for singing, but all come from hear heart.

As she was describing this to me, I realized that it was a little similar to the way that it went with David.

 

No doubt people must have been initialized surprised, but eventually familiar, with David’s praise, thanksgiving, and worship.

Not only with new psalms on the spot, but also David must have repeatedly began singing other psalms he composed in the past.

They would be walking, sitting, eating, or fighting the enemy, when suddenly David began to sing to the LORD.

David must have also been like that with prayer; in the middle of something, David would begin speaking to the LORD.)

 

Romans 12:12c  continuing instant in prayer;

 

(Praying without ceasing, more than not giving up, may also depict a heart being in a state of prayer, ready at any moment:)
