Back in the late 60's, there were quite a number of people who used to advocate tearing it all down, in order to build it again, utopian style.

There would be great roars of approval from those hearing it.

There were countless numbers of people who wanted to be on the tear-it-down-team, as it did not require much of a skill set.

No one seemed to know who was on the build-it-back-up-team, as that was not the team where the real excitement was.

No one also seemed to know anything about any plans for the "rebuild-phase".

Neither did anyone know where the financing for the materials, tools, and labor would come from.

But that was alright, as everyone was only interested in the first phase, the "tear-it-all-down-phase".

Those who would need to be concerned about the "rebuild-phase", would do so, when the time came, after all was torn down.

Apparently, the "rebuild-phase" would suddenly happen, as quick as the "tear-it-all-down-phase", with no plans, skills, or financing necessary.

Everyone apparently "knew it would just happen", so there was no need to worry about it.

Which allowed everyone to only focus on the "tear-it-all-down-phase".

Therefore, those were very exciting times!

As illogical, and nearly insane, as the above description seemed to be, it parallels the apparent phases of "making America green".

First, get rid of all the oil, gas, and coal, the dirty part.

Only after all that bad stuff is removed from our society, then everyone can focus on the happy part, making everything green.

So many seem to be dreaming of that wonderful time, when there will be limitless power available from solar and wind energy.

And it will all fall into place, suddenly, without planning or financing, because everyone wishes it so.

So many people really believed crazy things like that in the 60's, and it looks like many, now, in the 20's, are thinking equally as wild.
