The group described as  "the elect" in ( Matthew 24:22 ) and ( Mark 13:20 )  are a completely different group from the group described as  "His elect" in ( Matthew 24:31 ) and ( Mark 13:27 ). 

The group described as "the elect" , of God, are the chosen Jews  being "saved in the flesh" on earth from out of the "shortened tribulation" exclusively upon Israel which is the Gog-Magog War BEFORE the rapture of " His elect" Church. "The elect" , of God,  are "the woman " who is saved in the flesh in wilderness on earth  for 1,260 days described in ( Revelation 12:6 and Revelation 12:14 ).

The group described as "His elect", of Jesus, are His chosen Church being "saved in glorified bodies" by His angels He sends to "gather together" , ie. resurrect & rapture "His elect" faithful from the 'four winds" of earth , and "His elect" saints from "one heaven to the other"  BEFORE the tribulation upon the whole world. 

SO, THERE YOU HAVE IT :

"The elect" are the chosen by God to be SAVED IN THE FLESH ON EARTH from the "shortened tribulation" , Ie. the Gog-Magog War, as "the woman" in the wilderness for 1,260 days. 

"His elect" are the chosen by Jesus to be SAVED IN GLORIFIED BODIES  which can enter heaven at the resurrection & rapture of His elect Church.
