"Luciferase" is the substance which enables fireflies to glow , to light up. It  can be separated and is used to enable researchers to tag things so you can track visually compounds (like enzymes and proteins} in experiments. That is the case with MRNA Covid-19 vaccines.

Interestingly, DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is testing and involved in creating ,micro-chips which can be "tagged" with these vaccines.
