"Is the contrast significant?"

Is the contrast significant?First Paul talks about those denying the power of godliness:

II Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Then he talks about denying ungodliness

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Is it meaningful that in both, he mentions denying?
What is the difference between denying the power of godliness, and denying ungodliness?
Is the key not necessarily in being godly, or not being godly, but rather in what we deny?
