Psalm One and Thanksgiving

John and Doves,

Thanksgiving used to be called "Thanksgiving".

But because of the prevailing secularization , it came to be called "Turkey Day".

And now--because of the aggressive godlessness-- they skip the sentiment entirely and only look forward to "Black Friday".

Oh how thou art fallen.

We all come from families of varying degrees of worldliness.

To many, Thanksgiving is a day of gluttony, drinking, and surfeiting [ excess ] on football games and strained conversations.

Luke 21:34

"What fellowship hath

light with darkness?"

2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

If family gatherings are an unpleasant event, why not read Psalm One and just say"No" ? Peace of heart and mind is worth it.

When Jesus' own blood relatives asked Him to come to a family holiday-gathering.(He said 'No')

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.

For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the Temple of God with idols? For you are the Temple of the Living God.

As God hath said,

"I will dwell in them and walk in them. And I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate", saith the Lord, "and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."

"And a man's foes shall be they of His own household."

"Blessed is the person who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful"
