"Cutting our losses, and Moving On"

John and Doves,
We all know that the big Whatever is due to occur in a somewhat short time ( in nature, economy, war, politics, you name it.)
There will be losses incurred by many people who have never really exercised  self-control or self-discipline under dire stress.
Fuses are short. Tempers flare.

In early November, a young man was stabbed to death over a chicken sandwich.

Person A was standing in line at a fast-food restaurant.
Person B cut in line ahead of A.
They had a 15 second encounter which caused them to exit out to the street.
Person A stabbed B to death.
(This all happened within 15 seconds)

Was a chicken sandwich worth it? No.
Did Person B know when he got up that morning that by afternoon he would be in eternity? No.
Had he waited patiently in line, he would not be underground today.

Person A was minding his own business when he was interrupted, and A responded with a violent action that forever changed his life, causing a life-long regret.

Ronald Reagan once said something like this :
" A hero can wait 5 minutes longer"
That always helps me while waiting at a stop light.

The Coming Great Tribulation

What will undisciplined people do in times of dire stress ... the big
Whatever ?
Have we "girded up the loins of our mind"
(1 Peter 1:13)
so as not to have a knee-jerk response to everyday vexations/frustrations ?

James 1:19 says...
"Let everyone be swift to hear,
slow to speak,
slow to wrath."

Can we turn it over to the Lord in an instant prayer, and "chill out"?

God can defuse our anger when we choose to let it go. But it takes Huge self-control. You have to put your anger and vocal response on hold until you are away, and then vent that anger by talking the situation over with a mature, wise person.

The Bible tells us that these days that we are now living in (2019 etc.) are perilous (deadly) times.
2 Timothy 3:1.

We need our Wonderful Councelor---the Holy Spirit---to help us with our anger-management.

Women too

Last week at our local welfare distribution center, two women argued over who was in line first.
A third lady intervened and
gave her ticket for a "second-in-line" to the arguing woman.
That kind lady left, and returned hours later for her bread.

It seems that we all need to heighten our tolerance level for the tsunami-rage that will be upon us, due to our fallen human nature, and the surrounding godlessness.
And this is only the beginning. The Great Tribulation hasn't even begun yet.

Scientists have told us that many volcanoes are destined to explode in the near future.
But no one realized that the volcanoes to really worry about are from people who have not practiced self-control or patience.
Let patience have her perfect work.
James 1:3 and 4

I hear that road-rage is even worse.
May God slow us all down.
"Be angry and sin not.
Do not let the sun go down on your anger".
Ephesians 4:26

"A relaxed attitude lengthens one's life."

"Be patient. You will finally win."---
Proverbs, The Living Bible.
