Is there coming a change to the laws of chemistry, at least for one judgment?

James 5:1 ¶ Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.

 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

Gold currently does not typically rust, but apparently, it will rust for this judgment of the last days.

Although, I would imagine that these three lines of scripture wouldn't be found on websites promoting the buying of gold.

Don't some people consider this passage to be only symbolic, that gold won't physically rust someday?

They wouldn't consider the future resurrection to only be symbolic, and not physical, so why would this be different?

Will it be some kind of new, specialized weapon, that ruins gold, that will also affect human flesh, as well?

Or will it be a supernatural judgment of the LORD?
