When Daniel saw the three men clothed in
linen near the river he already knew the events of his 70
weeks prophecy vision up to the point of the crucifixion of
Jesus, so he then posed the question to them of how much
time is left until the 70 weeks prophecy is finished :
"And one said to the man clothed in
linen , which was upon the waters of the river; "HOW LONG
shall it be TO THE END of these wonders ? ( the
wonders of the 70th week of Daniel ). And I, Daniel,
heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of
the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand
unto heaven, and swore by Him that lives forever that IT
SHALL BE FOR A TIME, TIMES, AND HALF A TIME .......,
all these things shall be finished."
