JESUS CHRIST'S MINISTRY IS DESCRIBED IN
BOTH THE NEW TESTAMENT AND THE OLD TESTAMENT.......
The ministry of Jesus Christ is
described by the Apostle Paul in the New Testament:
"Now I say that Jesus Christ was a
minister of the circumcision ( the Hebrew people) for the
truth of God, TO CONFIRM THE PROMISES (
COVENANTS ) made unto the fathers."
The purpose of the ministry of Jesus
Christ was for the CONFIRMING THE COVENANTS made
by God to the fathers of Israel. He was in the process of
doing just that until the point that He was cut-off and
crucified in the middle of the last seven-year week of the
70 Weeks of Daniel.
The ministry of Jesus Christ is
described by the Prophet Daniel in the Old Testament :
"And HE SHALL CONFIRM THE COVENANT
WITH MANY ( the Hebrew people ) for one week ( seven years
): and in the midst of the week He shall cause the sacrifice
and oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of
abominations He shall make it desolate."
Jesus Christ is the "He" spoken of in
Daniel 9:27 because He was in the last seven-year week of
Daniel, and in the process of CONFIRMING THE
COVENANT made by God to the MANY Hebrew people. But at
the end of the first half of the last seven-year week of
Daniel, in the middle of the week, the sacrificial
crucifixion blood of Jesus Christ on the cross CAUSED
GOD to forever cease accepting the sacrificial blood
of animals for the atonement of sin. The "overspreading of
abominations" were by the unbelieving Hebrew people who
continued animal blood sacrifice for the atonement of their
sin , but it was not accepted by God.
And because of their continuing
"overspreading of abominations", about thirty-six years
after the crucifixion of Jesus, God did make Israel desolate
in 70 AD when Prince Titus of the Roman Army destroyed
Jerusalem and the temple, and scattered the Hebrew people
throughout the world until 1948.
