"Re: Jerry M (3 Sept 2017) 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3"

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
For yourselves know perfectly that "the day of the Lord" so cometh "as a thief in the night." For when "they" shall say, Peace and safety; then' sudden destruction cometh upon "them", as "travail upon a woman with child;" and They" shall not escape.

Let us identify first the difference in the day of the Lord, and the day of Christ.
These days are not the same said day. Many will argue this point, but I have learned that, 1. The day of the Lord, is a day in which none should look forward to. And 2. The day of Christ is the day of which we believers are commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ to WATCH for.

The day of the Lord
19 mentions in our King James Bible. (Amos 5:18 has 2 mentions.)
1. Isaiah 2:12 = who the day of the Lord is brought upon.
2. Isaiah 13: 6 = "it" shall come as a day of destruction from the Almighty
3. Isaiah 13:9 = "it" cometh cruel both with wrath' and fierce anger, 1. to lay the land desolate, and 2. to destroy the sinners' out of it.
4. Jeremiah 46:10 = THIS is the day of the Lord God of hosts, "a day of vengeance," that he may avenge "him" of "his" adversaries (:)
5. Ezekiel 13:4-5 Israel's prophets have not stood in the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel "to stand" IN the battle "in the day of the Lord."
6. Ezekiel 30:3  the day of the Lord is near; a cloudy day; "it" shall be "the" time of the heathen.
7. Joel 1:15 Alas the day of the Lord!  a day of destruction from the Almighty shall "it" come.
8. Joel 2:1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an "alarm" let all the inhabitants of the land tremble(:) for the day of the Lord cometh, for "it" is nigh at hand.
9. Joel 2:11 The day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide "it.?
10. Joel 3:14 for the day of the Lord is near in the "valley" of decision.
11. Amos 5:18 Woe' unto "you" that desire the day of the Lord! to what "end" is "it" for you? The day of the Lord is darkness, and NOT light.
12. Amos 5:20 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in "it"?
13. Obadiah 1:15 For the day of the Lord is near upon "all" the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee:
14. Zephaniah 1:7 Hold thy "peace" at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord "hath" prepared a sacrifice, he "hath" bid his guests.
15. Zephaniah 1:14 The great day of the Lord is near, and hasteth greatly, even the "voice" of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
16. Zechariah 14:1 Behold the day of the Lord cometh, and thy' spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee'.
17. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 For ye yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
18. 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away "with a great noise," and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works' that are therein shall be burned up.

The day of Christ
3 mentions in our King James Bible
1. Philippians 1:10-11 That ye may approve things' that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without' offence "till" the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits' of righteousness, which are "by" Jesus Christ, unto the "glory" and "praise" of God.
2. Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the "word of life;" that I' may "rejoice" in the day of Christ, that I' have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.
3: 2-3,5-8 Thessalonians 2:2 That "ye" may NOT be soon shaken in mind, nor troubled', neither by "spirit," nor by "word," nor by "letter" as from us' as that the day of Christ is at hand.  for "that day" shall not' come, "except" there come "a falling away first," and that man' of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; REMEMBER ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And "now" ye know "what withholdeth" that "he" might be revealed "in his time." For the "mystery" of iniquity doth already work(:) ONLY HE' who now letteth will let, "until" HE' be taken out of the way.
THEN shall "that Wicked be revealed",
When?...... shall that Wicked be revealed? When HE' the Holy Ghost/ the Comforter who now' letteth ( restrains) is taken out of the way.

The day of the Lord Jesus Christ
2 mentions in our King James Bible.
1. 1 Corinthians 5:4-5 ( concerning the fornication that was among this church, Paul addresses how it works with the spirit and that a little leaven, leaveneth the whole loaf)
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, WHEN ye are gathered together, in my spirit, with power "of" our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver "such an one" unto Satan for destruction of the flesh, that "the spirit" may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
2. 2 Corinthians 1:14 As also "ye" have acknowledged "us" in part', that "we" are your' rejoicing, even as ye' also are ours' IN the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.

( the "day of Christ" and the "day of the Lord Jesus" are one and the same day.)
In understanding these differences we stablish it in our hearts and in our "spirit" so that no man might deceive us by "any" means.

The woman in Revelation 12:5 represents Israel, and she brought forth "a man child"/ The Son of God, who was to rule "all nations" with a "rod of iron" and her/ Israel's child/ man child, was caught up unto God, and to "his" throne.
We understand....that it is a wicked generation....that seeks a sign.
We saw this during the ministry of our Lord "of" the Israelites. They always asking for a "sign."
Romans 1:21 Because that, when "they' knew God, "they" glorified "him" not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain "in their imaginations," and their foolish heart was "darkened."
Romans 11:11-12 I say then, Have they' stumbled that they' should fall? God forbid: but rather "through" their fall "salvation" IS COME unto the Gentiles, for to provoke "them" to jealousy. Now "if" the fall of them' be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them' the riches of the Gentiles; how much more "their" fullness?
For I' speak to "you" Gentiles, inasmuch as I' am the apostle "of the Gentiles," I' magnify mine office(:) If by any means I' may "provoke" to emulation "them" which are my flesh (blood/Jew/ Israel) and might save "some" of them'.
For if the casting away of "them" be the "reconciling" of the world, what shall the "receiving" of them' be, but "life from the death"?
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if "some of the branches" be broken off, and THOU, being "a wild olive tree," wert "them" partakes of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if THOU boast, thou bearest NOT the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I' might be grafted in.
Well; because of unbelief "they" were broken off, and thou standest "by faith". Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the "natural" branches, take heed lest he' also spare not thee.
11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye be ignorant of this "mystery", lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that "blindness in part is happened to Israel," UNTIL the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.
And so "all" Israel shall be saved(:) as it is written,
There shall come out of Sion "the Deliverer", and shall "turn away" ungodliness from Jacob:
27) For this' is my covenant unto them', WHEN I' shall take away "their" sins. As concerning the gospel, they' are enemies for "your sakes:" but touching "the election", "they" are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

The Day Of The Lord is truly at the end.
The "they" who say "peace and safety" is the world and Israel in Chapter 6 of Amos.
IF' we are hearing "them" say peace and safety/security now, How near is the Day of Christ, and The Day Of The Lord Jesus?
The church is taken "out of the way" ON the day of Christ, before....
The Day Of The Lord.

Amos 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what "end" is it for you?  the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
The day of the Lord is also known to us and Israel as "the evil day."
To us, the church, because Paul wrote to the Ephesians in 6:13
Wherefore take unto "you" the whole armour of God, that "ye" may be able to withstand "in" the evil day, and having done "all," to stand.
Ephesians is the "church of  Ephesus" in Revelation 2:1-7 and in verses 4-5 we read:
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, "because thou hast left thy first love." Remember' therefore "from whence thou art fallen", and repent, and do the first works; OR ELSE I' will come unto the quickly, and will "remove" thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
This church may, according to Paul...need to "withstand in the evil day."

So...Where are we now in prophetic time?
I have been watching, as we were commanded to Watch, by our Lord Jesus Christ.
The "seals" are known to us as the 7 sealed "judgments."
1 Peter 4:17 KJV   For the time "is" come that judgment "must begin" at the house of God: and if "it" first begin at us, what shall the "end" be of "them" that obey not the gospel of God?
1. The first seal was broken when our White House lit up with the gay colors.
This "movement" of the LGBTQ is an abomination unto God, and how many churches today accept this "movement? ( the whole world has)
This white horse rider "had" a bow, and a crown (authority) was given him: and he went forth "conquering, and to conquer."
So it is throughout the whole world.
2.  The Red horse rider goes out, and power (authority) was given him to take peace from the earth., and that "they" should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
A great sword can be "any means" to kill one another. Sword, gun, bomb, car, truck, plane, political agenda, you name it.
3. The Black horse rider had a pair of balances in his hand. The economy throughout the world is at a state wherein all nations are burdened. Debt is out of balance world wide.
4. The Pale horse whose name was Death and Hell followed with him. And power (authority) was given "them" over the 1/4 part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
5. The souls (lives) of them that were slain for the word of God, and for their testimony which they had.
We have been seeing church shootings even here in America now for a couple years, and we have seen Christians killed throughout all of the middle east, and also in Europe. This will increase to the 1/4 part of the world.
I believe the Church is taken out of the way, before the 30 minutes of silence in heaven.

I heard a Pastor speak years ago in the early 1990's and he said; I have heard many sermons on the 30 minutes of silence in heaven, but folks...it is just 30 minutes of silence.

I disagree, and this is why.
Nehemiah 9:17 KJV but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, "slow to anger," and of great kindness, and foresookest them not.
Psalms 103:8 KJV  The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psalms 145:8  The Lord is gracious, and full of "compassion;" slow to anger, and of great mercy.
Joel 2:13  turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Jonah 4:2  For I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and great in kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Nahum 1:3  The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Ezekiel 18:32 For I' have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Ezekiel 33:11  Say unto them', As I' live saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye, from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Hosea 8:8  Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
Hebrews 10:38  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man shall draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

We need also to remember that the Lord shall shorten those days; for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened. Because he is great in Mercy, and full of compassion, slow to anger, and has no pleasure in the death of the wicked.
Thus...we should pray for the lost and for Israel that, they should turn, turn, to the Lord God, who gave himself, that all the world should come to repentance.

God Bless
