Dear John and Doves,

 

In that " half asleep, half awake " state, last night, I believe that the LORD blessed me with a clear insight as to who the 144,000 are. Not their literal names, of course, but who they are as a group. I could hardly sleep after this - longing for morning so as to get to my computer. I didn't want to wake my hard working husband by roaming the halls !!

I was pondering on young Nathan and his prophecy / vision.  When questioned by the audience as to why he was chosen to visit Heaven and receive this knowledge - what merit did he have etc. Nathan replied that he was told he had merit - that he hadn't been randomly chosen. I thought about how young Nathan is - how innocent. Without guile.

At the tender age of 15 years, Nathan hadn't had time, on this earth, to commit major sin. And it's a pretty sound guess that Nathan is still a virgin. Revelation 14: 4-5 describes the 144,000 thus:-   These are they which were not defiled by women; for they are virgins. These are they THAT FOLLOW THE LAMB WITHERSOEVER HE GOETH (emphasis mine) These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Coupled with the description of the 144,000 in Revelation 7: 5-8, this denotes that there is a literal 144,000 and that  literal Jesus Christ - the Lamb - is literally standing on Mt. Zion with a group of literal Jewish males who have never been intimate with literal women. No question. It is all, word for word. This is literally going to happen.. It is clear that the 144,000 are very young Jewish lads ( like Nathan ) who are either too young to have had intimacy with a woman or they are deeply committed Torah students, too young to have married yet. A dedicated Yeshiva student wouldn't dream of sex before marriage. I obviously can't categorically state that Nathan is - or will be - one of the 144,000 but it is very possible that we have seen and heard from a member of this elite group. Young Nathan. This insight from our LORD cleared up a lot of the niggling questions I had about the 144,000. I always pictured them as fairly mature men with great wisdom and great self control. I benefited so much from watching the Nathan interview again (for the trillionth time). A big shout out to Andrea for posting the link again. 

I will be writing a further post re thoughts on what Nathan imparted. The implications for us etc.
